Continued Commitment to Community
Thank you for taking time to visit my campaign web site.
It has truly been an honor running to represent you in the Nebraska Legislature. I have enjoyed meeting many of you at community events and as I have walked door to door in our neighborhoods over the past several months.
My campaign is based on a continued commitment to our community. For decades my wife Ruth and I have dedicated much of our time giving back to the community. As members of the local area chambers of commerce we have worked to help create more economic opportunities for our local businesses. Our sense of community service has also led us to help those in need by serving with such organizations as the Suburban Rotary Club, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the UNMC Monroe-Meyer Institute.
As for state government, I believe a sensible business approach is vital. As a Manager with OPPD and a small business owner who has created jobs, I understand the needs of our employers both large and small. Service on the City of Papillion Planning Commission, the State of Nebraska One-Call Board and on the Papillion/La Vista Public Schools Business Advisory Committee has helped me prepare to serve in Lincoln from day one.
Finally, I am a proponent of limited government and the pro-business ideals that have made our country and community great, and once provided us with a strong economy. For the men and women who labor in our work force, whether blue collar, white collar or no collar, we need to help you to control your own destiny, keep more of your hard earned money, achieve your goals and live your dreams.
Please take time to learn about each of the candidates and where they stand on the issues important to you. I hope this web site helps you know more about my experience both in business and our community, where I stand on the issues and the common-sense conservative philosophy that guides me. If you have any questions or suggestions for me, please contact me at jim@jimsmith2010.com.
On Tuesday, November 2nd or as you complete your Early Ballot, I ask for and would appreciate your vote.
